FAQ

1. What is the purpose of this blog?

The purpose of this blog is the same as my purpose in life: to help people generate confidence by living a life full of enjoyment, influence, purpose, and vitality. My hope is that each article creates a unique connection that increases your self-awareness and motivates you to live your passion. The overall message is simple: confidence. I want to help people improve self confidence by showing them how to enjoy life, generate influence, define a purpose in life, and boost vitality.

2. What is the difference between happiness and enjoyment?

The distinction that I like to make between happiness and enjoyment is that happiness is a state that extends from your emotions, while enjoyment is an action, or series of actions, from which your emotions extend. Happiness can be pursued but never really obtained, making it impossible to really increase happiness. On the other hand, enjoyment is the action of possessing and benefiting from something, and can be generated continuously. This is why asking yourself how to enjoy life is better than asking yourself how to increase happiness.

3. What is the difference between power and influence?

Power is defined as the ability to control a person, a group or a situation in a particular way. Influence is defined as your capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something. While power is easily corrupted and most often maintained by force, influence is always fair and just because it relies on freewill. Influence comes down to inspiration and no one can be forced to be inspired. Learning how to influence motivation is critical to developing as a leader.

4. How does your Ph.D. apply to this lifestyle blog?

My Ph.D. is in Anatomy and Cell Biology and my training in this area has provided me with specialized knowledge on how to boost vitality and increase self awareness. This knowledge goes beyond generalized tips on healthy living and ways to eat healthy. Ph.D. is an abbreviation for the term Doctor of Philosophy. The word “philosophy” does not refer solely to the modern field of philosophy, but is used in a broader sense in accordance with its original Greek meaning, which is “love of wisdom”. My blog is an expression of this love of wisdom.

5. What type of consulting do you do?

I am both a biomedical consultant and a peak performance consultant. While many of today’s life coaches and gurus are only concerned with organizing your life and making you feel happy, my goal is to help you develop your personal and professional strengths so that you can leverage them towards your purpose in life. My hope is that this blog will show you how to enjoy life and generate influence. Overall, I want to help you boost vitality and improve self confidence.

6. Do you have any upcoming speaking engagements?

Yes. I have several biomedical and peak performance speaking engagements scheduled across the country in 2012. I am working to set up an online calendar on this site that will allow you to view and bookmark these events. Please contact me through this lifestyle blog if you would like further information regarding a seminar in your area.

7. What is the best way to stay connected?

The best way to to stay connected is through my blog’s connect page. You can friend me on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, Digg my articles, and watch my Youtube videosfrom this page. Most importantly, you can subscribe to my RSS feed to receive automatic notifications whenever I publish new articles. You can also contact me directly through my blog’s contact page.

8. How can I show my support for this lifestyle blog?

There are Facebook “like” and “send” buttons, a Tweet button, and a LinkedIn “share” button at the beginning of each article on the home page. These buttons are also located at the end of the articles.

I hope the articles on this blog show ways to enjoy life more and improve self confidence. I really appreciate your support and I look forward to hearing from you.
